A Dia de los Muertos-inspired tapas bar serving not-so-traditional Mexican cuisine in the heart of downtown Crested Butte.
BONEZ is a Dia de los Muertos-themed tapas bar and grill rooted in the colorful mountain town of Crested Butte, Colorado. The art and interior design take their cues from the work of Jose Posada and the vibrant traditions of Mexican folk art -- wood block prints, colorful calaveras adorning the walls, and a rotating skeleton mascot that keeps things lively.
Our 150-seat restaurant is one of the largest open spaces in all of Crested Butte, featuring a chandelier made from upcycled glass bottles, a wall of books, and a long bar stocked with the best tequila selection in Colorado. We serve a simple yet eclectic menu of not-so-traditional Mexican cuisine that blends classic recipes with modern flair.

Our bar is a temple to agave. Flights of premium tequila and mezcal sit alongside craft margaritas that range from smooth and classic to the Scorpion -- a habanero-infused dare that separates the locals from the tourists.

Great tacos, potent margaritas. The most full tacos I've ever had -- bursting with flavor. The house margarita is very good and it does pack a punch. The Dia de los Muertos atmosphere is incredible.
Best tequila selection I've encountered in Colorado. The lobster tacos are otherworldly, and the interior decor with all the folk art and calaveras makes it feel like a celebration every visit.
The elk relleno is unreal -- five cheeses and a hint of cinnamon. We ordered way too much but have zero regrets. Happy hour is an absolute steal. One of our favorite spots on Elk Avenue.
